As Chief Financial Officer, Dan Tempesta is a strategic partner to Cerence leadership and the Board of Directors, focused on accelerating growth, improving operating results and creating sustainable, long-term value. He is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting operations for the company. Dan has more than 30 years of financial and operational experience, as well as extensive knowledge of Cerence from his previous role at Nuance Communications, where he most recently served as EVP & CFO from July 2015 until December 2023, including through the acquisition of Nuance by Microsoft. During his more than 15-year tenure at Nuance, Dan held numerous senior finance roles, including chief accounting officer and senior vice president of finance. Prior to Nuance, he was the corporate controller and chief accounting officer at Teradyne, and previously held a number of roles at PwC. Dan serves on two boards: Luminar Technologies, a public company developing lidar sensors for automotive safety and autonomous driving, and The Home for Little Wanderers, a large not-for-profit organization providing child welfare services to thousands of children and families in need. Dan holds a business administration and accounting degree from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
