🚨 When an emergency vehicle is approaching, every second matters. Cerence Emergency Vehicle Detection (EVD), already deployed in production vehicles today, gives ADAS and autonomous driving systems an additional sense: the ability to detect and localize more than 1,500 emergency sirens across nearly 50 countries, before the vehicle comes into view. Using existing vehicle microphones and AI trained to distinguish sirens from traffic, road noise, music, and other sounds, EVD can identify approaching emergency vehicles from more than 300 meters away with interior microphones and beyond 800 meters when paired with exterior microphones. All of this adds up to more time to react, increased situational awareness, and safer roads for drivers, first responders, and everyone around them.

In-car voice AI operates in one of the most demanding acoustic environments: engine noise, road vibration, wind and rain, open windows, and multiple passengers speaking at once from different seats. 👨👩👧👦 To solve this challenge, we deliver dynamic speech enhancement for multi-seat in-car environments. Our system enables passengers in different zones to make requests simultaneously, while maintaining consistent recognition quality across both front and rear seats – even as noise conditions change.
